... PASADENA : Ghost Drawing and Writing experiments: apparatuses, tools, gadgets, and other aspirational implements that invite ghosts to express themselves in words and pictures made an appearance compliments of Anita Cooney, Arzu Ozcal, Denise Gonzales Crisp, Emily Luce, and Gail Swanlund. The interactive installation, which began at the Poor Farm, was part of Machine Project's residency at the Gamble House in Pasadena October 5.
... PHILADELPHIA : Several DIers gathered during Design Philadelphia, October 9-17, including Peter Hall, who led a panel discussion on Rethinking Design Education, and Denise Gonzales Crisp, one of the panelists. Also, work coming out of DI:ACCESS was presented as part of the Design In Flux exhibition thanks to Steve Bowden and Dr. Hall.
... DETROIT : DIers who participated in Design Cities:Detroit last February, as well as others, will be making and installing work during DesignInquiry's residency at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD), supported by the Department of Education and Public Engagement. The projects, kicking off DI's Decade of Agitation, will be on view from October 15 to December 31 at MOCAD.
... EAST LANSING : A selection of DI's printed matter are part of the exhibition Substrate : Printed Material from the Rust Belt at (SCENE) Metrospace in East Lansing, curated by DI:Detroit Inquirer Benjamin Gaydos, on view until December 14.
